Death of his daughter Clara Serena in October 1623. On 5 June 1624 Rubens was elevated to the peerage by Archduchess Isabella (Archduke Albert having died on 13 July 1621). In 1624 he painted a.o. the 'Adoration of the Wise Men'for Saint Michael's Abbey (now the Royal Museum of Fine Art Antwerp) and the altarpiece for Saint Bavo's Cathedral in Ghendt. On 13 January 1625 Rubens became guardian of the minor children of Jan Brueghel I.
