co-creator of the Vor Frelser Kirke (Christianshavn); after the death of his first wife, he remarried in Januray 1750 with Christiane Marie de Kiærskiold, who had inherited a cloister in Jutland. The couple would live there most of the time; in 1752 De Thurah finished the spiral tower of the Vor Frelser Kirke; in 1753 he wirthdrew from the military and in the same year he handed over the supervision of the royal buildings in Zealand to Eigtved, who would die the same year. Hereafter De Thurah had to take over Eigtved's commissions; in 1755-1757 he built a house for himself at Amaliegade 25 (Saur 2020)
