Godefroy set up his art business in Paris at the beginning of the eighteenth century with the paintings restorer Ferdinand-Joseph Godefroid; after his death 60 paintings were auctioned on 22 April 1748, 30 of which were of Dutch or Flemish school. (Raux 2005) (Marandet 2008).
