According to Thieme/Becker first mentioned in 1627 in Gouda when he was visited by Peter Paul Rubens (derived from Houbraken). He taught mathematics to the lieutenant colonel Persival [= Pieter de Perceval] (Houbraken 1719). In 1639, 1642 and 1643 he was a surveyor for the city of Gouda.
