His first major success in Paris was a statue of the Goddess Diana 'à l'antique' in 1680 for Louis XIV; later the reliefs on the equestrian statue of the king on the Place des Victoires. Originals now in the Louvre, after the statue was destroyed in the Revolution. An other equestrian statue of Louis XIV, which was (only) placed in 1713 on the Place Bellecour, Lyon. Bas-reliefs depict the Rhône and Saône on the pedestal. This image was also destroyed by the revolutionaries. A scale model, which was performed by a student, is still in the Louvre. The reliefs were later incorporated in the facade of Lyon City Hall. In Paris he had contact with court sculptor Jacques Buirette.
