Place/Date of activity

c. 1750-1803. Active in the ornament deptartments of various manufactories for iron goods as well as in the manufacture of Henry Clay (later Small & Son and Jennens & Betteridge) in Birmingham, where he presumably decorated and painted paper mache panels (e.g. tea trays) with landscapes. After 1780 information about him fails abruptly. His work was sold in an estate sale after his death (Saur 1996).
